Our Bride Karoly Elopes To Portugal
A spectacular setting of unspoilt natural beauty provided the backdrop for this heartfelt elopement.
We are delighted to share the story of a truly unforgettable elopement that took place on the sunlit cliffs of Portugal on the 31st August 2024. Our gorgeous Chilham Bride Karoly found her perfect wedding dress with us earlier in the year- and we were honoured to be a part of this special day with her and Pete.

The couple chose the stunning Praia do Tonel, a secluded beach framed by majestic cliffs overlooking the vibrant ocean, as the setting for their vows. Battling the natural elements, Karoly stood gracefully against 25 miles per hour winds, which only added to the drama and beauty of the moment. Pete, a talented wedding photographer, captured the breath-taking scene, documenting his bride’s beauty and the raw, unspoiled landscape.

The day began with a celebration in itself, as it was also Pete’s birthday. After a delicious breakfast at the Laundry Lounge in Sagres, the couple strolled along the cliffs, soaking in the scenery and the anticipation of their special day ahead.
“After breakfast,” Karoly recalled, “we went back to our apartment and started writing our vows. A quick lunch on the balcony, and then the preparations began!”
While Pete headed to Praia do Tonel to prepare for the ceremony, Karoly got ready with the help of a Belgian friend who they met the previous day. Together, they perfected her look, with her friend carefully helping her into her beautiful gown.

When Karoly arrived at the beach, she found Pete gazing out over the ocean, watching the sun dip lower in the sky. As the waves crashed below them, they exchanged heartfelt vows and rings, sealing their promises with a kiss.

The couple then enjoyed their time capturing memories across the stunning cliffside scenery before ending their magical day with cocktails and a romantic dinner in town.
